A Little Byron Love
I wanted a pretty post for a change… so I will share one of my favourite poems of all time, a gift from that talented beast, Lord Byron:
She Walks in Beauty
I.She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellow’d to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
II.
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impair’d the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o’er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.
III.
And on that cheek, and o’er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

That’s also one of my favorite poems. I’ve been thinking about using the first couple of lines as a goodnight Pulse, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
@saintvi - LOL… funny you mention that… When I first started typing it, I thought, “Oh, man… I bet saintvi has already used this one…”
beautiful
@makeupforlifee - Yeah. Byron gets me hot!
I love this poem! It’s so romantic
This is my favorite poem–ever! Thanks for posting it up!!
This is a happy one…it’s like the chocolate ice cream cone on a hot summer day…you know the one…the one that takes you back to your childhood even though you haven’t had one in years? It’s the same feeling I get when I read stuff like this or the love lines from the great Shakespeare.
@TheCheshireGrins - Isn’t it? Byron was alllllll about the seduction!
@Krissy_Cole - How cool! You are welcome.
@tearsofpearls85 - Absolutely!
Very pretty!
Ohhh, it’s like stopping to smell the roses! Flashbacks on the England I miss so much, Summer gardens succumbing to Fall…..
Byron was one of a kind. When I was young, I worshipped him. Then for a long time I thought he was a crazy pig. Now that I’m older and care less about what follies men pursue, I’m enamored of him again! He’s a poet that can stay with me my whole life, and that’s saying a lot.
@storyslut - Glad you liked it!
@artworkjanalee - You sound like my Soul Sister Jan (she’s from Brahm’s Grove)!
I think Byron was a lovable pig.
