  • Hey!  My town’s called Bridgeport, ‘cept it’s West Virginia not Connecticut.

    Great then/now pictures!

  • Very nice presentation.

  • That was awesome~ sending it to my daughter~ did you remember she was from Bridgeport?

  • @WildWomanOfTheWest - That’s right!!! I just posted another one… Historic Black Rock (part of Bridgeport). I happened to find a clip that was taken near where my first apartment was (Brewster Street)… I’m homesick, a little, these days…

  • @SamsPeeps - This is good way to walk yourself through those blue days.  I will check out the other post!

  • @ccarothers - Cool beans! My Mom told me she’d been to another Bridgeport, years ago… I think it was in Texas?

@ANVRSADDAY - @godfatherofgreenbay - @Roadkill_Spatula - Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool, too. Glad you guys came over!

  • I lived on Colorado Ave in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1978. What a wild year that was for me and my mom and the world, for that matter. GREAT slide show. thanks so much for posting this. BIG hugs.

  • @Harpos_Mark - Oh yeah… I used to know that area very well… I had a friend who lived near there, over on Denver Ave. It isn’t that far from Mtn Grove Cemetery (where most of my family is buried)… and Ken and I lived (for a short time) in the Brooklawn area, just on the other side of North Avenue.

(singing in an annoying voice): iiiiiiit’s a small world, after all! iiiiit’s a small world aaaaaafter all! iiiiiit’s a small world, aaaafter all; it’s a small, smalllllll world!!! LOL

Man. I need a trip to DisneyWorld. Really badly!!!

  • I can’t believe I’ve never been there . . . and I used to live so close. It’s a really pretty place.

  • @jacksoncroons - Whoa, Jack-A-Row… back up baby! Bridgeport USED to be nice… now, the majority of the city is crap… crack houses, streets barricaded to prevent drug sales (tho to tell you the truth, I don’t know how that is supposed to work), downtown is DEAD, kids have to wear uniforms at school because they had issues with gang colours… and the former mayor was convicted on something like 15 federal charges (I think he is out of prison now, but don’t quote me). Seaside Park, close to my old neighbourhood in the south end and formerly the estate of PT Barnum, is a great place to be murdered and/or gang-raped…

All of this shit mostly used to be on the east side of Bridgeport. When things started to get bad in our old neighbourhood, that’s when we moved to Fairfield to live with my grandma… I think that was 1980 or 1981.

    It’s a shit-hole… but I still love it. I just don’t recommend it as a tourist stop

Thank you… sorry for the weirdness. I’m having a weird life right now…

  • Anything you say is terrific that’s what I ruminate
